What’s in the Box?

Sixteen years ago, we published a methodology for measuring the wellness of teams, relationships, and personal growth. In 2011, the United States Patent and Trademark Office granted us a trademark. A decade later, our assessment tool achieved research validation in a collaborative study partnering the Data Science programs from Elmhurst University and Carthage College. In addition to validating the tool, their summary cited a 98% predictability outcome between pre- and post-metrics when clients implement recommended actions.

Now, a decade and a half later, we’re inviting family, friends, and neighbors to indulge in the insights that our many business teams have enjoyed. We’ve created a simple, ‘DIY’ card sort exercise designed to shine a light on coping strengths and illuminate challenges. It’s like taking a snapshot of how you are managing the complexities of your world these days.

Human development evolves in cycles as we learn to interact with our environment more effectively with each stage of growth. The card sort is built to address the major domains of each of the four stages of the cycle:

  • Building the Platform: alignment with values, goals, and conflict resolution.
  • Relationship Effectiveness: sharing respect, accountability, and connection.
  • Navigating Growth: introducing new experience and learning.
  • Managing Change: gaining perspective and resilience.

This card sort exercise serves as a real-time gap-analysis revealing areas where you may be struggling or feel stuck. Like any assessment tool, the card sort exercise will unveil strengths, vulnerabilities, and opportunities – but it won’t tell you what to do about it. That’s up to you.

There are rarely surprises when engaging this exercise. Most often, individuals, partners, and teams experience validation. The outcome typically resonates because it corroborates what you’ve known all along. So why not?

Well, as the saying goes, “Don’t ask a question if you’re not prepared to hear the answer.”
